I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. We are ready to get the ball rolling for the second half of the year. I can't believe how quickly this year is passing by!! Quick Notes for Parents
We will NOT be having a weekly spelling test for the next several weeks. We will be spending our time hitting our remaining uncovered standards rigorously. I will give you and the students a heads up when we plan to pick back up our spelling tests.
Weekly Standards: 1/19 - 1/22
Reading/Language Arts:
L.6 - Transitional Words
RI.3 - Explain the relationship between events, ideas, individuals, etc. based on specific information in the text.
RL.5 - Explain how a series of chapters, scenes, or stanzas fits together to provide the overall structure of a particular story, drama, or poem.

Social Studies:
New Material - WWI & The Roaring 20s

Your fifth grader is in store for many meaningful and challenging experiences. I feel strongly that in order for the school year to be successful, it is necessary for the child, teacher, and parent(s)/guardian(s) to work closely together throughout the school year.
